Dublin Councillor releases catchy Christmas tune

Cllr Trevor Gilligan says ‘Christmas Kiss’ is a festive thank you to his Clondalkin constituents

A Fianna Fáil councillor is hoping to become a seasonal sensation with a catchy Christmas release on YouTube.

Councillor Trevor Gilligan says ‘Christmas Kiss’ is a festive thank you to his constituents in the Clondalkin area of West Dublin.

Cllr Gilligan has represented the area since 2004.

With influences including the Beatles, Pharrell Williams, Jamiroquai and Michael Jackson; the councillor has said he loves making music and plays the guitar and piano.

Although he claims he “can’t sing,” his sound has been likened to Calvin Harris.

No stranger to the limelight, Cllr Gilligan released the track, ‘Keep You Warm’ in November in the hopes of representing Ireland at next year’s Eurovision.

He is due to release his debut studio album ‘Hello World’ in the coming weeks.
