The Democratic Unionist leader has strenuously denied allegations he was set to benefit from Northern Ireland's largest ever sale of public assets.

Northern Ireland's former First Minister Peter Robinson described the allegations as "outrageous and groundless" as he gave evidence to a Stormont finance committee.

The committee is investigating a deal in which the National Assets Management Agency (NAMA) sold its entire Northern Ireland property portfolio to an American company.

High profile blogger Jamie Bryson claims Mr Robinson was in line to benefit from the £1.2bn (around €1.6bn) sell-off.

Mr Robinson has been giving evidence today - rejecting the claim that he and four others were to share £7 million:

Earlier this week, Mr Bryson told the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) here that he will not supply written evidence about the sale of NAMA's Northern Ireland loans - unless he also gets the chance to speak in person.

Jamie Bryson has told TDs that his evidence must be seen in context, and that he would have to give evidence in person in order to explain it.
