Revenue officers have confiscated 7,000 contraband cigarettes in north Dublin.
The smuggled cigarettes - branded ‘Rothmans’ and ‘L&M’ - were seized during a routine operation in the Finglas area.
Revenue said the two parcels originated in Greece.
The cigarettes have a retail value of over €3,500 and represent a potential loss to the exchequer of over €3,000.
Investigations are ongoing; however no arrests have been made.
Revenue said the seizures are part of its ongoing operations targeting the supply and sale of illegal cigarettes in the “shadow economy.”
