The head of one of Ireland's children's charities says they have been motivated in part to come out in favour of the same-sex marriage referendum in response to the tactics of the No side.

This morning Barnardos, the ISPCC, the Children's Rights Alliance and a number of other children's organisations are launching their campaign for a Yes vote under the BeLongTo banner.

The organisation - which represents lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people - is staging events around the country promoting a Yes vote on May 22nd.

Fergus Finlay, CEO of Barnardos, says they have made the decision to join the campaign in response to some of the arguments made by the No side.
