As awards shows go, the IFTAs has had to work hard to eke its place out in the Irish social calendar, but now celebrating its 12th year – and a move from RTÉ to TV3 – the show honoured the best and brightest of the small and silver screen last night with its large golden statuette.

In terms of style, it was an evening of full-length gowns and sheer panels, with host Amanda Byram's white number a hit with the blogging and tweeting fashionistas. You can see a selection of the red carpet looks in out gallery below:
