An emergency accommodation unit has been installed on South King Street in Dublin to highlight the conditions homeless children have to deal with.
It comes after figures released yesterday showed that nearly 3,200 children are living in these units.
The charity Inner City Helping Homeless says many people are not aware of what the rooms actually look like and the difficulties faced by families.
It says Santa will be visiting thousands of children in hotels and B&Bs again this Christmas.

CEO Anthony Flynn says it is vital action is taken now.
"We've 3,194 children that are living in these units right across the country.
"That's going to be a big number of children that are going to be spending time in these units over Christmas.
"Santa Claus will be arriving to hotels and B&Bs this year - it's unacceptable.
"We need change - and what we need is social housing bills in order to take those children and families out of those units.
"We have families that are getting two and three buses a day to go to school, and two and three buses to get back to hotels.
"A number of these hotel and B&B units are going to close over the Christmas period for a number of days as well - which will mean displacement for those families that are living in those facilities".
