Two men, who were among four people charged in relation to the Brussels attacks, have been charged with 'terrorist murders.'

UPDATE:

Mohamed Abrini, one of the two charged with 'terrorist murder', has admitted to being the 'man in the hat' filmed at Brussels Airport, moments before the deadly explosions took place last month, according to the Belgian federal prosecutor.

His DNA was located in the Schaerbeek flat where attackers stayed the night before the bombings.

A statement from the prosecutor's office has said:

"After being confronted with the results of the different expert examinations, he confessed his presence at the crime scene. He explained having thrown away his vest (jacket) in a garbage bin and having sold his hat afterward."

Osama Kraiem, one of the six people arrested in Belgium on Friday, has also been charged with 'terrorist murders' in connection with the Brussels attacks, although his role in the atrocity remains unclear.

Kraeim was captured on CCTV footage at the shopping mall where the suitcases used by the airport bombers were purchased.

The pair and two others - Herve BM and Bilal EM - have all been charged with participating in "terrorist murders" and the "activities of a terrorist group".

These arrests could prove to be significant in linking the attacks with Islamic State.
