The couple became engaged in London earlier this month.

Clarence House says the couple will live in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.

His brother, Prince William, and wife Kate Middleton have congratulated the couple.

They say in a statement: "We are very excited for Harry and Meghan. It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together."

While Clarence House adds that the Queen and her husband Prince Philip are "delighted for the couple and wish them every happiness."

The pair have appeared at Kensington Palace for the first time since revealing they are engaged.

Prince Harry said he knew she was 'the one' "the very first time we met".

Ms Markle's engagement ring was designed by Prince Harry.

It was made by Cleave and Company, Court Jewellers and Medallists to Queen Elizabeth II.

At its centre is a diamond from Botswana, a country that holds special significance for Prince Harry who has visited many times since he was a child.

It is also a place the couple has spent time together over the last year and a half.

The ring features two outside stones which are diamonds from the personal collection of Prince Harry's mother, Princess Diana.

The band is gold.
