Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has appeared in court for the first time since July 2013.

The final pre-trial hearing in the case is under way in Boston ahead of jury selection for a federal trial, which is due to begin on January 5th.

Mr Tsarnaev faces the possibility of the death penalty if he is convicted of the April 2013 bombings.

Three people were killed and more than 260 injured when two bombs detonated near the marathon finishing line.
