The owners of a disabled dog in the US are raising funds, after his wheelchair was stolen.

The dog's owner Rod says Charley uses the wheelchair all the time and cannot walk without it.

But on Monday night, he says someone came onto their porch in Washington and stole it.

A friend has since set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds for a new one.

"I am creating this go fund me for my friend Rod...I would love to be able to help him replace the custom made wheel chair for his best friend."

But an updated statement on the page yesterday said: "Charley has a new wheel chair coming now because of your donation!".

More than US$1,000 (€882) was raised in just one day.
