Amanda Byram & Nicky Byrne have been announced as the hosts of RTÉ's Dancing with the Stars.

11 celebrities will take part in the Irish version of the hit show, which gets underway on Sunday January 8th.

Amanda Byram said she was 'absolutely thrilled' to have been chosen as co-host.

"For years I have been looking for the right project to bring me back to Irish television and as soon as I was offered the role I didn't hesitate," she said. "The team and I are looking forward to entertaining the nation by combining a much loved format with a uniquely Irish spin."

Former Westlife singer and Eurovision contestant Nicky Byrne - who has previously taken part in BBC's version of Strictly Come Dancing - said: "Having been a contestant on the UK show, I know only too well that there is simply no other show like it on TV.

"I am ready and delighted to dust off my Cuban heels and work with Amanda, the judges and all the celebs, in what I believe will be an incredibly exciting show for Irish television viewers."

As well as the main show, presenter Bláthnaid Tracey will host a bonus preview show called Can't Stop Dancing on Friday nights during the 12-week competition.

The 11 dancers are still being kept under wraps - but we have speculated about some of the people we'd like to see taking part.
