50,000 baby lettuce plants have been stolen in Dublin.

They were in a truck which has been reported stolen from Rush, in the north of the county.

The vehicle is a white Mitsubishi Canter, with license number 07 WW 4693, and was taken from Lower Channel Road at around 6.20am yesterday.

It will be a race against time to recover the lettuces, as if they are not planted by Tuesday, they will die.
