Gardaí investigating a fatal road traffic collision, which occurred at about 6pm on 15th January 2017, at Green Street, Callan, Co. Kilkenny are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

A woman in her 60s, a pedestrian, was fatally injured when she was involved in a collision with a car. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car, a woman in her 20s, was not injured.

The road is closed to facilitate a forensic examination of the crash scene and is not expected to reopen until tomorrow, Monday.
