Two gardaí have been injured after their patrol car was hit by a runaway horse in Limerick.
The incident happened at around 4:30am on Tuesday morning, while gardaí were attending an accident on N18 between Limerick Tunnel and Roxboro Road junction.
The horse was killed instantly when it hit the front of the vehicle.
Both gardaí were taken to Limerick University Hospital with minor injuries.
The Garda Representative Association (GRA) said one of the officers suffered a broken arm in the incident, and wished both a 'speedy recovery'.
