Fine Gael support rises while Labour's satisfaction rating continues to stagnate

The Taoiseach's party has climbed by five points in the satisfaction ratings since July, bringing its support to 29 per cent, according to a poll published today.

The Millward Brown survey for the Sunday Independent also shows that 31% of voters are happy with the Government - the coalition's highest satisfaction rating in three years.

However Joan Burton's party has failed to enjoy any of that surge. Labour remains stuck on just 7%, unchanged since July.

Sinn Féin are also unchanged on 21%, with Fianna Fáil up a point to 24%.

While the level of support for their parties has fallen, both Enda Kenny (31%) and Joan Burton (24%) enjoyed a boost in popularity - up 6% and 4% respectively. However Micheal Martin retains the highest satisfaction rating of the party leaders, one point ahead of the Taoiseach.

Group Politcal Correspondent for Independent Newspapers, Daniel McConnell, said the big losers are Independents and others. Their combined share of the vote is 19% - five points down compared to the last poll three months ago:
