Sinn Féín members have voted to allow abortion in the case of fatal foetal abnormality.
A motion on the subject was passed by a comfortable majority at the party's Ard Fheis in Derry.
Members also voted in favour of repealing the 8th Amendment, which gives equal weight to the lives of a mother and her unborn child.
Earlier today around 20 anti-abortion campaigners picketed outside the gathering in Derry.
The deputy leader of Sinn Féin Mary Lou McDonald says the decent thing to do would be to allow for the choice of abortion in the case of fatal foetal abnormality.
