A team of Irish scientists has made a breakthrough discovery about the genetics of our ancient ancestors.
Shattering the red-haired, blue-eyed stereotype, the Bronze Age Irish typically had dark eyes and hair - more like Southern Europeans.
The research from Trinity College and Queen's University tested DNA from people who lived up to 5,000 years ago.

Their findings also show there was mass migration into Ireland, often from the Middle East and Eurasia, which brought cultural changes including new farming methods.
