A member of Dublin Fire Brigade has been injured after an ambulance was hit by a projectile last night.

The incident happened in the city centre, when the ambulance was targeted by a slingshot.

In a tweet, DFB condemned the incident, describing it as "unacceptable".

It adds: "We wish our colleague a speedy recovery."

Simon Harris this morning responded to the incident, describing the attack as "despicable behaviour".
