Commuters are being reminded that there will be no Luas service in Dublin on Wednesday.

Transdev, the Luas operator, says services on both the Red and Green lines will not run due to strike action.

Luas tickets will not be valid on services of other public transport service providers.

Normal service will resume on Thursday May 5th from 5.30am.

Transdev say they have also received notice of further strike actions on Friday May 13th, Friday May 20th, Thursday May 26th and a four hour stoppage on Friday May 27th.

Drivers are taking the action in support of a pay claim of some 20%.

The company has also threatened to cut drivers' pay by 10%, as the work to rule continues.

Transdev said last week: "If the work to rule continues beyond 4am on Friday 29th April 2016 and drivers do not commit to carry out the full range of duties required under their contracts of employment from that time, Transdev will reduce the driver grade's pay for the duration of the work to rule by an initial percentage of not less than 10% of the basic salary of those employees".

While SIPTU members at Transdev said they will not accept the reduction in response to "their prosecution of a lawful and legitimate trade dispute".
