An American woman who says she met Graham Dwyer online claims he spoke to her about travelling to the US to rape and kill her.

Darci Day was giving evidence on day 29 of the Foxrock architect’s murder trial. Her testimony was broadcast live from the US and delivered to monitors in front of Mr. Justice Tony Hunt, the jurors, both legal teams and two large screens behind the bench.

She told the court she was depressed and suicidal at the time and they discussed ways of killing her through emails.

She claims Mr Dwyer spoke to her about his sexual relationship with Elaine O’Hara and she believed Elaine had asked him to kill her too.

The American claimed the Foxrock architect was also looking at possible disposal sites in Maine, where she lived. She said he talked about travelling over and picking her up in a remote location where they would leave her own car and drive to another place where he wanted to cut her throat during sex.

He had also suggested buying a prepaid “track phone” so they could keep in touch, she said.

Darci Day finished her hour-long evidence by saying she was praying for the O’Hara and Dwyer families as well as the accused, who denies murdering the childcare worker in the Dublin Mountains in Aug 2012.

Frank Greaney reports:

Earlier the trial heard traffic between two Nokia phones found in a Co Wicklow reservoir, with Elaine O'Hara's belongings, ended on the day of her alleged murder.

The architect denies killing the childcare worker at Killakee Mountain on August 22nd 2012, in what is alleged to have been a sexually motivated attack.

Traffic between the mobile phones has been analysed: There is Elaine O'Hara's iPhone and Graham Dwyer's work phone.

Then there are two phones found in the Vartry Reservoir, which are alleged to be secret phones the two used almost exclusively to contact each other.

The reservoir phones have the number of the other saved in contacts under the name 'slave'in one and 'mstr' in the other.

Analyst Sarah Skedd said they were stored without any vowels, as in MSTR and SLV.

The jury heard there were more than 1,300 messages between these phones, but contact ended on August 22nd 2012 - the day of the alleged murder.

There is also a fifth prepaid '083' number which the prosecution alleges is another secret phone used by the accused.
