Met Eireann has issued a series of weather alerts, as high winds and heavy rainfall raise the possibility of coastal flooding.

The warnings are valid from 9pm Tuesday until 9am Wednesday.

The announcement comes following a series of weather alerts issued on Monday.

A status yellow alert wind warning has been issued for Dublin, Wexford, Wicklow, Galway, Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick and Waterford.

Wind speeds of 50 to 60km/h are expected, with gusts of 90km/h. The winds are expected to be strongest

There is also a weather advisory for Wexford, Galway, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Waterford.

Met Eireann warn that “a combination of strong winds, high tides and heavy rain brings the enhanced risk of coastal flooding overnight and at first tomorrow to exposed coastal areas.”
