Bus Éireann is warning that some school bus routes may be subject to disruption due to flooding.

But a small amount of routes may be unable to operate until flood waters recede.

The company is advising parents and guardians of children using the services that a small number of routes in some parts of the country may be subject to disruption, due to circumstances beyond their control.

"Where flooding is an issue most services will operate with diversions, though we envisage a minor amount of services will be unable to operate until flood waters recede further", it says.

But it adds that the situation is being closely monitored and that in affected areas, normal services will resume as soon as possible.

The areas affected include:

  • North Mayo – all services expected to operate, some diversions will apply
