While most three-year-olds are unlikely to even remember their birthday party, one family in Perth has pushed the boat out for their toddler’s bash to the tune of €35,000. Lauren Lembo’s Disney-themed birthday party is now making international headlines, and her parents, Eric Lembo and Trang Nguyen, maintain it was money well spent.
On the grounds of Caversham House, a reception centre looking out over the city’s Swan River, a huge marquee, complete with chandeliers, was erected as a venue for the 170 adult and 50 child attendees. The guest of honour’s name was illuminated in giant letters, and the children attending were entertained by roving face painters, balloon artists, and served a special afternoon tea.

In lieu of a few cocktail sausages and crisps, the menu on the day included tempura scallops, truffle arancini, pork belly, paella, wood-fired pizza, and oysters, PerthNow reports.
The family has made it an annual tradition to throw a bigger and bolder party on the occasion of Lauren’s birthday, and believe the extravagance is worth the effort. The family runs the reception house where it is held, and treat the celebration as a chance to showcase what they can put on.
“It’s my industry, so if anyone can throw an impressive party it will be me,” Eric Lembo said, “If I was a builder and I had to build houses, I’m pretty sure my house would be impressive too.”
