Three men have been questioned by Revenue, after a tobacco seizure at Dublin Airport.
Over 105 kilos of tobacco, worth an estimated €46,000, was discovered in baggage yesterday evening, after indication from a sniffer dog.
The three men - aged 40, 38 and 24 - were detained after arriving on a flight from Charleroi, Belgium.
The men were questioned in relation to the attempted importation and files are being prepared.
It comes after Revenue announced that thousands of cigarettes were seized earlier yesterday when an apartment was searched in the North inner city.
Revenue's Customs Service officers seized 3,280 cigarettes and 2.6kgs of tobacco - which included Malboro and Golden Eagle brands - with an estimated retail value of €2,600 and a potential loss to the Exchequer of €2,180.
A woman was questioned regarding the cigarettes, and an investigation is continuing.
On Monday, €160,000 was confiscated from a man as he was about to board a ferry to Holyhead. The man, who was in his 40s, was arrested.
Officers have granted a three-month detention order by Judge Walsh in the Criminal Courts of Justice in order to carry out further investigations.
