Is Vinted actually good for the environment? 

The online fashion vendor is one of the world’s leading retailers of second hand clothes. 

According to one study, buying second hand items through the site has saved the planet emitting 453 kilotons of CO2 - equivalent to 3.6 billion km of driving. 

On Lunchtime Live, stylist Justine King described herself as a “huge Vinted fan”. 

“My attitude of it would be that garment someone's already bought and either doesn't fit or they don't like,” she argued. 

“So, it's either going to end up in landfill or in the charity shop and that could be the end of its life. 

“So, we're extending the life cycle of something that's already been something that someone made a bad purchase on, right? 

“Rather than always buying new from the shops.

“So, they're having to bring in more and more and create new, more new clothes.”
