Jonathan Dowdall, the state’s key witness during the trial of Gerard Hutch has been accepted into witness protection despite Hutch’s acquittal. With Hutch still in Dublin, and Dowdall serving a four-year prison sentence, we look at what will the state be providing for its ‘’key’’ witness, and what are ‘’The Monk’s’’ next steps likely to be.
