Over the weekend Vicky Phelan Ireland’s most famous advocate for women affected by the CervicalCheck scandal spoke about the need for a “Minister for women” within the government. 

So would a “Minister for women” work? Would this be the most efficient way to deal with issues relating to corners around the gender pay gap, maternity leave and  pensions?
