Health Minister Simon Harris has been bringing proposals to Cabinet today, looking to re-establish six regional healthcare structures around the country.

It would essentially mean a return to the old health board system that was in place before the HSE was established in 2005.

Michael O’Keeffe is Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Mater Hospital and Liam Doran is the former General Secretary of the IMO joined Ivan to discuss the state of the health service
