It appears Boris Johnson is preparing his “fall back options” should the Brexit talks with the EU fail to reach agreement.

Britain is reportedly planning new legislation that would override some of the deal signed last October, jeopardising the future of Northern Ireland. 

Speaking this afternoon, Tánaiste Leo Varadkar has said domestic UK law can't undermine the protections for the border with Northern Ireland contained in the Withdrawal Agreement.
