Pitcairn Island was famously the final destination of the mutineers that rebelled on the HMS Bounty.

Indeed the Island is still inhabited by the descendants of those Mutineers.

But this is not the only act of rebellion in the Island’s history.

Professor Tillman Nechtmann is Chair of the Department of History at Skidmore College and Author of The Pretender of Pitcairn Island: Joshua W. Hill, the Man Who Would Be King Among the Bounty Mutineers.
