Team 33 delve back to the 1990s and early 2000s

If you miss 1990s Serie A and the early 2000s, this is the place to be.

This week on Team 33, we decided to delve back into that Golden Age with a focus on strikers.

Where do you start? Well, it had to be Gabriel Batistuta based on the responses we got on Twitter.

So, Ronan Mullen, Jonathan Higgins and Colm Boohig joined me to talk Batigol and the other great forwards of the era.

From Christian Vieri and Beppe Signori to Dario Hubner and Roberto Baggio, we've been looking back in depth.

Themes-wise, we started with loyal strikers eg Batistuta and Totti. And from there it was a rabbit hole...

Bale... out?

Also this week, Zinedine Zidane has returned to Real Madrid. Which isn't necessarily good news for Gareth Bale. Indeed, some of his team-mates (Marcelo and Thibaut Courtois) have not exactly been complimentary about his integration within the dressing room.

How much is accurate is open to question. And even more doubtful is whether Zidane can inspire a revival. So Joe Coffey and Killian Woods joined me in studio to discuss both those Real subplots.
