Adam Idah could be forced out of Norwich City, as they intensify their efforts to sign Adam Armstrong.

Reports in this morning's papers suggest the Republic of Ireland striker could be used as a makeweight in a deal to bring the Blackburn striker to Carrow Road.

Idah scored three goals in 17 Championship matches last season, one blighted by injury. The Corkman found the net on the final day of the season away to Barnsley with the title already secured.

Norwich have been on the trail of Armstrong for some time, and the Newcastle academy graduate has just entered the final year of his contract at Ewood Park.

The 24-year old was a revelation last season, scoring 28 Championship goals for Blackburn.

According to The Sun, Norwich are preparing a bid of £15million (€17.6m) plus Idah to bring Armstrong to Norfolk.

Watford and Southampton are also believed to be interested in the Blackburn striker.

It's worth noting, that local Norwich paper Pink Un say no formal bid has been made, and Idah remains part of the Canaries' plans.

Norwich boss Daniel Farke has always been a strong advocate for Idah, who burst into the first team with a hat-trick in an FA Cup 3rd round victory at Preston last year.

Speaking after his Barnsley strike Farke said, "It is up to him to earn this and prove he can shine.

“Adam makes great decisions in front of goal and he has to value that gift. He is a good lad, is physically strong and works hard every day and tries to improve.

“You could tell when he first came back from injury [hernia surgery] how much his rhythm has been disrupted but from the first days afterwards he was improving. I would say for the past 10 days or so he was back to his proper fitness level.

“I'm always happy when the younger players get some minutes on the pitch. There are no gifts as you know.

"You have to work hard on the training pitch to be part of the game day squad, and from there if you get a chance on the pitch then you have to take it.”
