Roberto Firmino was the Liverpool hero as his stoppage-time winner sent his team into the FIFA World Club Cup final.

The Reds were facing Mexico's Monterrey in the second semi-final in Qatar.

Naby Keita had given Jurgen Klopp's side an 11th-minute lead.

The Other Funes Mori

Mo Salah played a low pass behind the Monterrey defence and in-form Guinea international Keita latched onto it before finishing with aplomb.

But Rogelio Funes Mori - brother of ex-Everton defender Ramiro - leveled for the Mexican side just three minutes later, tapping in from close range after Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson had parried a shot.

As the game ticked towards extra-time, Firmino - who had started on the bench - met a low cross from another second-half introduction Trent Alexander-Arnold at the near post to make it 2-1.

Liverpool will now go on to face Brazil's Flamengo on Saturday. The Copa Libertadores champions beat Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal in Tuesday's semi-final.
