Shelbourne manager Damien Duff has added more firepower to his squad, with the signing of Dan Carr.

The 27-year old is no stranger to the SSE Airtricity Premier Division, having spent 18-months with Shamrock Rovers.

Carr's last parking space was at Welling United in the English National League South - the sixth tier of English football.

Undoubtedly, the pinnacle of the Trinidad & Tobago international's career was in Tallaght where he scored 17 goals in 63 games, and tacked on a further nine assists.

Carr left for Apollon Limassol in Cyprus, before moves to RoPs in Finland, and Indian club, Bengalaru United.

"I am delighted that Dan has chosen us over a host of other clubs," said Duff, "He knows the division which is important, can create out of nothing and has an absolute edge to his game that I love.

"Dan has a massive hunger and desire for this season which is the reason he has settled so quickly."

Shelbourne open their season back in the top flight on Friday-week at home to FAI Cup-winners, St. Pat's and Carr is just Duff's latest addition to the First Division title-winning squad.

Mark Coyle, Sean Boyd and Daniel Hawkins have all come in from Finn Harps, Jack Moylan's swapped Bohemians for Tolka Park, and Lewis Webb's been signed on loan from Swansea.

“I’m here to help Shels win as many games as possible," said Carr, "There’s great energy in the squad and I can see there’s no fear there.

"I’m looking forward to playing in Tolka Park and working with Damien, Joey [O'Brien], David McCaillister and the whole squad and staff.

"I can’t wait to get going.”
