A Boston court will hear from legal teams later involved in the case of a Cavan nanny accused of assaulting a 1-year-old child in her care who later died.
34-year-old Aisling McCarthy-Brady is originally from Lavey and is charged with the assault and battery of baby Rehma Sabir.
She will appear before Cambridge District Court for a pre-trial hearing.
The charges against Ms. McCarthy-Brady could be upgraded to murder, pending the results of an autopsy on the child.
'Status may go against her'
She denies any involvement in the death of the baby.
Deborah Becker is from WBUR Radio in Boston.
She told Northern Sound that prosecutors in the case have been painting the Cavan woman as a "rulebreaker" as she has been living in the country illegally.
