The legendary trainer joined OTB's Friday Night Racing

Noel Meade says Paul Carberry was a 'genius' jockey buts says the could have achieved more in his career.

"There's no doubt about it, he was a genius. He could get horses to do things that a lot of people couldn't. People used to say he sits too quiet."

The Meath jockey retired from racing on 2016 and Meade says Carberry should have achieved more honours.

"Often times I'd be watching him ride a horse. People standing beside me would think he's going real well, and I'd know well that he wasn't going well at all.

"When he went for broke he was usually gone,' explained Meade.

Tu Va stables owner joined Friday Night Racing with Johnny Ward to look back at some of the best moments of his career and talk about some of the best horses he's trained.

The seven-time Champion trainer believes Carberry may have regrets about not giving his career a better shot but confirmed Carberry was a sensational talent.

"Yeah, I just think if things were back again he may have had a better run at it; he'd do a better job. I think he could have concentrated more on his life in the saddle - He was a brilliant rider."
