Over a hundred Russian diplomats around the world are being expelled over the nerve agent attack in Salisbury earlier this month.

The White House has announced the expulsion of 60 and the closure of a consulate in Seattle "due to its proximity to one of our submarine bases and Boeing."

Ukraine and Canada are also kicking out their diplomats while 14 EU member states already taking similar action include France, Germany and Denmark.

The Kremlin denies any involvement in the attack on double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia, and says the reaction from the UK's allies is a "mistake".

British Prime Minister Theresa May's told the House of Commons it's the biggest removal of Russian officials in history.

Here at home the Department of Foreign Affairs says Minister Simon Coveney is to bring an options paper to cabinet that will outline what approaches the state can take.

Justice Minister Charlie Flanagan has confirmed a decision will be reached by tomorrow afternoon.
