Set in Meeting House Square, the Temple Bar Food Market is on every Saturday from 10am-4:30pm in any weather.

With everything from cupcakes and cheese to heavenly oysters, you’re taste buds will definitely be satisfied!

The Grand Dublin Swim

If you’re more of the active type and don’t mind a little chilly water, The Grand Dublin Swim takes place on July 15th.

Pegged as perfect for swimmers of all levels, you can choose to swim 250m, 750m, 1600m, 5k or 10k in the River Liffey.

Sound Check at The Science Gallery

If you’re looking to exercise your tech skills this weekend, head along to Sound Check, The Science Gallery’s summer exhibition.

It promises to show you how your favourite tune might sound when played on “a physically impossible instrument”.

Even if you’re not into your tech, you can head along and join in on the fun as the visitors all play a role as performers, hackers, designers and observers!

It’s definitely one to check out if you’re looking for an unusual date.

People’s Park market, Dun Laoghaire

In the heart of Dun Laoghaire with the sea as its backdrop, this impressive food market takes place every Sunday from 11am-4pm.

The markets are known to serve as a springboard for emerging businesses and are a real champion of local food movements.

As well as the best artisan food and fresh produce, you’ll also see the works of local artists and craft stalls along the way.


The Galway Film Fleadh

If you’re in the West this weekend and a bit of a film buff, the Galway Film Fleadh is a must. With successes from last year that include A Date for Mad Mary, Bobby Sands: 66 Days and The Young Offenders, you could get ahead on Ireland’s box office hits.

Whether you like animation, shorts, horror or documentaries, there is a jam packed schedule right across Friday, Saturday and Sunday so you’ll be sure to find something you enjoy.

Summer cinema: Grease screening

Nothing quite says summer date night like curling up under the stars (wrapped up for the undoubtedly chilly weather) and watching a movie outside with your nearest and dearest.

On Friday 14th Of July, Happenings and 7UP will be taking over Fr. Burkes Park in Galway city, joining the T-Birds and the Pink Ladies for a wonderful evening.

The organisers are encouraging picnics and the likes, and there will be tea, coffee and snacks available on site.

Galway International Arts Festival

The Galway International Arts Festival is Ireland’s largest annual arts festival, taking place in 2017 from 17th – 30th July.

If you’ve ever been to Galway during the festival, you’ll understand how it take over the city and brings the streets to life, getting everyone involved in the excitement.

The festival works with companies and artists from all over the world to produce its renowned programme of events.

West Cork Literary Festival 2017

What was once a series of casual events has grown to become a week-long festival of readings, talks and workshops from Irish and international literary figures.

This year’s festival has everything from an evening with Anne Enright and Paula Meehan on July 14th to yoga on the lawn of Bantry House the following morning and an evening with Graham Norton on July 20th.
