An 11-year-old boy has died in hospital from injuries received in a traffic collision in Navan.

Gardaí are investigating the incident which occurred at Abbeylands South on Sunday October 16th, at approximately 9.50am.

The boy was crossing the road when he was involved in a collision with a truck.

He was airlifted to Tallaght Hospital in Dublin and then transferred to Temple Street Hospital.

However he died there yesterday afternoon.

The driver of the truck, a man in his mid 30s, was uninjured.
