A woman in her 70s has died following a two-vehicle road accident in Derry
A woman in her 70s has died following a two-vehicle road accident in the North.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said the accident occurred at 10:40 this morning on the Hillhead Road near Castledawson, Magherafelt in County Derry.
Three other men were taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.
PSNI Inspector Gavin Sterling said the crash involved a red Kia Soul and a black Mazda.
“I would ask anyone who may have witnessed this road traffic collision - or either car in the area this morning - to contact Magherafelt Police Station or the Collision Investigation Unit,” he said.
Part of the Hillhead Road remains closed to traffic. Diversions are in place and motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
