Ahead of the hotly anticipated release of the first cinematic spin-off from the blockbusting Star Wars franchise, a new trailer has debuted showcasing more action from December’s Rogue One. The film, which stars British actress Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso, offers fans the best glimpse at the story so far, including another glimpse at Darth Vader.

Featuring Irish actress Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma, the trailer is the most detailed look audiences have yet seen of the expanded Star Wars universe, including the first glimpse of Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen as Galen Erso, Jyn’s father and a key figure in the production of the infamous Death Star.

The Gareth Edwards-directed film also shows what life is like living under the regime of the galactic empire, with the tiny resistance forces facing seemingly insurmountable odds as they battle to steal the plans of the moon-sized weapon, buoyed up by the endless hope of Jyn Erso.

Star Wars: Rogue One is released worldwide on December 16th, promising to become one of the top grossing films of year. Check out the trailer in full below:
