Each year Revenue seize roughly €5m worth of goods. Most of thee goods are found at Dublin Port, the largest and busiest trading point in the state.
Last month, customs officers at the port made one of their biggest ever seizures, when they discovered 30 tonnes of counterfeit perfume and aftershave in a shipment from China.
Activity like this is heightened at Christmas, so Newstalk reporter Barbara Feeney paid a visit to Dublin Port to find out what goes on behind the scenes.
