Gardaí investigating the murder of a man in Dublin last year have arrested two men.

Mark Desmond (41) was shot in Griffeen Valley Park in Lucan on December 2nd 2016.

Mr Desmond was known to Gardaí and had a number of previous convictions.

Two men - aged in their 20s and 30s - were arrested following a planned operation in the Clondalkin and Lucan areas this morning.

They are being held at Garda stations in the west Dublin division.
