Two men have been arrested in Meath as part of an operation targeting burglaries in the Dublin region.
They were detained on Monday at around 8.00pm as part of Operation Thor, conducted by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau.
Officers intercepted a stolen and re-plated car, which was travelling in the townland of Ratfeigh in Ashbourne.
During this operation the two men, aged 41 and 31, were arrested.
A three litre BMW, stolen in Dublin within the last week, was recovered.
Items suspected of being used in the course of committing burglaries were also seized.
The arrested men were held in custody at Blackrock garda station, where they were detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Both are due to appear before Dun Laoghaire District Court today, charged with the unauthorised taking of a vehicle and theft-related charges.
