Today will be cool and windy day, with showers and just short sunny spells.

The rain will be heaviest and most frequent over the northern half of the country, and will be accompanied by strong and gusty northwest winds.

Top temperatures will be between 11 to 13 degrees, feeling cooler in the wind.

Colder weather can be expected later in the day and tonight.

There will be some showers early on, but it will be drier later, with clearing skies and slackening breezes.

Lowest temperatures will range from 2 to 4 degrees, with some grass frost in places and also some patches of mist.
