Today will be cold and quite breezy, in a fresh and gusty north to northwesterly breeze. Some sunny spells, but cloudy periods too, with occasional rain or hail showers, some turning heavy in the north and east, with a risk of thunder. Top temperatures just 7 to 10 C.


Cold and breezy overnight, with some clear spells. But some scattered showers too, these mainly in the north and northwest, with some hail and a little sleet on high ground before dawn also. Lowest temperatures -1 to plus 2 C., leading to a widespread grass frost.
