Thursday's weather: Some sunny spells, with widespread showers later

Most areas will be dry this morning, with sunny spells, but some scattered showers will occur, mainly in the eastern half of the country.

The scattered showers will spread further westwards during the day, a few of them heavy, especially in the east and northeast - though some areas will remain dry.

Maximum temperatures 12 to 14 Celsius, in light to moderate mainly easterly breezes.


Tonight, most areas will be dry, with clear spells, but scattered showers will continue in eastern, northeastern and southern coastal counties, some of them heavy along east and northeast coasts.

A few patches of mist and fog will form inland.

Minimum temperatures 2 to 6 Celsius.
