Thursday's weather: Mostly dry and bright, with rain later

Dry in most areas at first, with bright spells, especially in the east.

Mostly cloudy conditions, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, will extend gradually from Atlantic coastal counties during the morning, becoming persistent in some areas today, especially in the northwest later.

However, overall amounts will be relatively small in most parts, with some dry intervals.

Maximum temperatures 14 to 17 Celsius, in moderate south to southwest winds.

Clearer weather, with scattered showers, will extend from the Atlantic this evening and early tonight and winds will veer westerly.


Tonight will become dry in most parts, with clear spells developing, but scattered showers will occur also - most of them in Atlantic coastal counties.

Minimum temperatures 8 to 11 Celsius, in moderate westerly breezes, backing southwesterly.
