Tens of thousands of people will have to find alternative transport this weekend as Luas strikes are set to go ahead. In the past hour drivers at the company voted overwhelmingly to reject a pay deal of up to 18.7 per cent over 33 months.

Funeral of five Buncrana drowning victims took place in Derry today

The funeral for the extended family members who tragically drowned in Donegal at the weekend has taken place in Derry. The five died after their car slipped on algae and went off the pier in Buncrana on Sunday evening. They were Sean McGrotty, his two sons Mark (12) and Evan (8), the boys' grandmother Ruth Daniels and her daughter Jodi-Lee.
