Revenue officers have seized five puppies and five adult dogs at Dublin Port.
Officers stopped two men who were disembarking a ferry from Holyhead.
The men, both Irish nationals aged in their 50s, were driving a van and pulling a horsebox.

They had no pet passports for the puppies and dogs.
The Pomeranian and Spaniel-type dogs and puppies are in the care of the DSPCA.
A follow up investigation is now in progress.
